Scheduled

We’re experiencing slow processing times and a growing submission and query queue size, with some days’ old submissions still queued. Attempts to tune the database to improve performance have not yet resolved the issue. Because of this, and in order to reduce the risk of further problems, we will be conducting emergency, unplanned maintenance tomorrow, Saturday, 29 March, from 11:00 to 14:00 UTC.

The emergency maintenance will require complete downtime, during which most Crossref services will be unavailable. Attempts to access these services, including making a metadata deposit, will receive an error message, and you will need to retry when services are back online. We will not store or queue attempted metadata deposits or updates made during the downtime. This downtime will not affect the resolution of Crossref DOI links, which will continue to work, nor the REST API for retrieving metadata. We apologize for any disruption to registering your metadata, but we want to get these issues resolved ahead of the end of the month/quarter and push through the delayed submissions ASAP.

We will update this incident report throughout the maintenance window.
